Description of Significance THE CHILOCCO INDIAN AGRICULTURAL SCHOOL WAS ESTABLISHED IN THE LATE 1800S TO EDUCATE NATIVE AMERICAN CHILDREN FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THIS NATIONAL REGISTER DISTRICT INCLUDES 76 RESOURCES, INCLUDING BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES, SITES, AND OBJECTS CONSTRUCTED DURING THE YEARS THE SCHOOL OPERATED. OF THAT NUMBER, 65 ARE CONSIDERED CONTRIBUTING, WHILE 11 ARE CONSIDERED NON-CONTRIBUTING. NOTABLE BUILDINGS INCLUDE LEUPP HALL, ORIGINALLY A ROMANESQUE REVIVAL STYLE BUILDING DESIGNED BY EDMUND BIDWELL, THAT HAS BEEN ADDED ON TO SEVERAL TIMES, AND HAWORTH HALL, A 1910 ROMANESQUE STYLE BUILDING DESIGNED BY PAULEY, HOYLAND, AND SMITH. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 9/8/2006.
